Here we have a wonderfully original example of the 986 Boxster registered in November 1999, but being one of the first 2000 model year vehicles. This means the car is fitted with the larger and more powerful 2.7 litre engine which was introduced that year.

The exterior is finished in Zenith Blue. This was relatively new colour at that time so was a popular choice, but it is rare to see on the road now making this a striking example that really stands out. We have had the car for some time as it came to us with paint problems on the bonnet and bumper and we have treated it as a long term project to get to the right standard. These have been professionally attended to and the headlights polished, so the car looks superb.

There are one or two minor dents on the body as you would expect from a car of this age, but they do not detract from the overall impression. Importantly the original stickers remain under the bonnet hood confirming this is the original item.

The blue hood has no rips or tears, and has been recently recoloured in the original dark blue finish. This version has the perspex rear screen which is larger than the later glass versions, but does need care to keep it in the current condition with no creases or marks.

The car originally sat on 17 inch Carrera Twist wheels, but these have been changed at some point to the 18 inch Split Rim 'Sport Design' versions. It was not unusual for this to happen before sale as the choice of Alloy Wheels was restricted so dealers often changed them to create the car of the customers design. We have had these professionally refurbished by Platinum Alloys in Swindon so they are as new. They are fitted with good quality tyres with good tread depths remaining.

Coming to the inside finished in graphite grey, and the car remains completely original with the Becker CD Radio still in place. The Leather faced seats are showing some signs of ageing but no rips of tears, and for that reason we have kept them original. The Tiptronic gearbox shifts smoothly, and the steering wheel carries the Tiptronic buttons. Both window regulators have been replaced with genuine Porsche items so the windows work perfectly, and again the original panel stickers are on both doors confirming they are the factory panels too.

The car drives exactly as you would expect given its low mileage - it is possibly one of the best Boxster to drive we have ever had for sale, and this confirms how well it has been looked after.

The car was PDI'd on the 5th November 1999, but the dealer stamp is not evident. But then has an excellent service record as follows -

14/11/00. 4,796 Miles. AFN Guildford (Porsche Importer and Dealer)
25/09/01. 8,385 Miles. Stratstone of Wilmslow (Porsche & Ferrari Dealer at that time)
15/10/02. 14,405 Miles. Stratstone of Wilmslow
21/10/03. 23,556 Miles. Merlin Nottingham (Porsche Dealer)
11/01/05. 32,773 Miles. Porsche Centre Nottingham (previously Merlin)
04/06/06. 41,017 Miles. Martin Brown - Independent Porsche Technician
30/06/07. 46,689 Miles. Martin Brown - Independent Porsche Technician
11/07/08. 51,152 Miles. Martin Brown - Independent Porsche Technician
18/07/09. 53,515 Miles. Martin Brown - Independent Porsche Technician
19/05/11. 59,438 Miles. Martin Brown - Independent Porsche Technician
Unreadable 64,886 Miles. Martin Brown - Independent Porsche Technician

This is backed up by 6 Brake fluid change records; and 7 long life condition reports. For the last 3 of these done by Martin Brown it is noted 'wax Oil' which suggests this was done regularly which would explain the condition.

The car will be serviced before being sold, and has just passed its MOT - the test initially identified a service brake issue which was the pads having glazed due to lack of use; and an advisory for a caliper pipe. The pipe was replaced and new front pads fitted and it passed the re-test with not even an advisory note.

Early Boxster models are becoming collectable particularly with such low mileage and relatively low keepers, so if you are interested call the office to arrange a viewing on 01666 504505.
