MG TF

Here we have a lovely low mileage example of the popular MG TF roadster with the 135 BHP 1.8 K series engine.

This particular car benefits from the Sport Pack 2 giving uprated sports suspension; the larger ventilated front discs with four pot callipers painted in red, and 16 inch multi spoke alloys. It also has the bright pack with bright mesh inserts on the outside and chrome door handles. And finally the alcantara pack with the seats trimmed in black leather and smoke grey alcantara.

The exterior is finished in metallic black, and following a full mop and polish it presents very well with just one of two small marks. There are a couple of small scratches as can be seen in the photos and a couple of small rust spots. The hood is in good condition and has just been cleaned, recoloured to freshen it and fully sealed with the excellent Renovo product range. Make no mistake this is a 20 year old car and carries some marks, but a good example all the same.

The headlights have also received a mop and polish to bring back the sparkle - so the car now looks lovely.

The multi spoke alloy wheels are generally in good condition all around. No doubt they would need a refurb to be perfect buy it is not needed just yet, and these are fitted with the correct staggered tyres all round with nearly new Toyos on the front.

Moving to the inside and the car has the half leather/half alcantara interior trim and is the usual functional MG TF standard. The seats are comfortable, and as you would expect from the age of the car there is some wear on the trim but no rips or tears. It has been fitted with a Sony aftermarket XPlod stereo.

Mechanically the car is very good and drives well. The head gasket is a known weak spot on these, so the receipt on file for it being changed not many miles ago is a good find.

Obviously with older cars it is to always easy to have detailed history, but this car has lots of stamps in the original handbook and accompanying receipts as follows -

It also had new front discs and pads in 2019 @46,958 Miles, and new rear discs and pads in 2021. A new Clutch was also fitted @48,856 Miles in June 2021.

We have also just fitted new front and rear discs and pads for the latest MOT, and had the calipers front and rear repainted to red again. We also done an oil change and fitted a new air filter and fan belt so no service required for some time. Clearly the car is ready to be driven and enjoyed over the summer.

All this makes for a great modern classic for some economical summer fun. The car is great to drive now and improve as you use it given the very attractive price.

The car comes with the original book pack with the service stamps and receipts; two keys and key fobs for the alarm system; and will be supplied with a 6 month warranty covering the major components for peace of mind. Part exchange will be considered at trade price.
