Here we have an absolutely unbelievable Discovery in outstanding condition.

Not a 'barn find' as some might call them, as this car has been stored in a heated garage for the last 22 years by its second owner, who is a long standing family friend and neighbour. He bought it when 3 years old with 22,000 miles on the clock, and in his ownership it has only covered a further 6,000 miles.

Given the heated garage, and also the fact it was Waxoyled on purchase it remains in as new condition, and I doubt you would be able to find a better example anywhere not to mention with this mileage.

Being the V8 Auto, it had a period conversion to LPG for economy, which remains active and useable, with the filler mounted on the lower rear drivers side panel.

It is hard to describe just how original this car is, but you will seee in the photos it has had seat covers fitted, and under every one the cloth of the seats remains absolutely as new with no marks, rips or tears whatsoever. We have left them on as they have provided superb protection over the years. You will also see the fold out rear occasional seats are also unused.

It is fitted with the original 'Discovery' branded radio, and you will see had a Nokia hands free kit installed with outside aerial - remember those?

I drove the car back from collecting it, and it drives and handles just exactly as a Discovery would have done when new. The brakes work perfectly as do all the electrics.

The bodywork is simply remarkable with no stone chips in evidence, and you will note the headlight protectors that have been fitted for all those years. There are the slightest of marks around the rear side roof lights, but absolutely minimal and do not detract from the condition. I have tried to include photos of any small areas that may be just slightly below par.

I have included a photo of the drivers side rear quarter light where the rubber has perished - there is a new one with the car that has just not been fitted....

This car is being sold on behalf of my neighbour as a classic car as it would be impossible for us to provide a warranty given the age - but I doubt any buyer will intend to use the car as that would take away from the originality.

Rare Land Rovers are becoming increasingly collectable with prices on the rise. The Discovery may not be in that league as yet, but this really is one for the collector who will appreciate its unique condition and mileage.
