BMW I8

The I8 is one of those rare concept cars that goes into production almost unchanged. When introduced this really did give a glimpse of the future of hybrid technology, combining fantastic performance with outstanding comfort, and economy.

Recently it is becoming known for being a sensible alternative as a performance car, given that as a 2015 model it benefits from no road tax charge at present, and achieves impressive economy in everyday use.

The car we have is finished in Ionic Silver, which has a hint of blue complementing the exterior blue accents. The bodywork is excellent as you would expect from a low mileage car, with only the smallest of chips in a couple of places which will, of course, be smart repaired before delivery.

Moving to the interior and one of the stunning things about the I8 is just how normal it feels once you have slipped in through the butterfly doors. All the controls are typically well laid out in the normal BMW fashion with the familiar iDrive controller giving easy access to the menus as normal.

Carrying a high specification as standard, the i8 benefits from head up display; Harmon Kardon Sound; Climate control with heated seats, and a host of features as standard.
